Dolls (2002)



This movie was edited, written, and directed by Takeshi Kitano. Produced by Masayuki Mori and Takio Yoshida, Distributed by Shochiku, and Office Kitano was the production company.it was released on 2002 with a running time of 114 minutes. It’s  a highly stylized art film, Dolls is part of Kitano's non-crime film oeuvre, like 1991's A Scene at the Sea, and unlike most of his other films, he does not act in it. The movie cast are Miho Kanno – Sawako, Hidetoshi Nishijima – Matsumoto, Tatsuya Mihashi - Hiro, the Boss, Chieko Matsubara – Ryoko, Kyoko Fukada - Haruna Yamaguchi, Tsutomu Takeshige – Nukui, Kayoko Kishimoto - Haruna's Aunt, Kanji Tsuda - Young Hiro, Yūko Daike - Young Ryoko and Ren Osugi - Haruna's Manager. The film and each of its vignettes revolve closely around the theme of death. It was Kitano's intent to show death as neither good nor bad but a relative event.
